The Year of the Wedding
Not only am I desiging wedding invitations starting this summer, but I am also attending more than a few. I’m calling it my summer of weddings. Could you need a better excuse to buy amazing dresses? I think not. Here are just a few of my favorites that I think are wedding guest appropriate. All can be found at www.shopbop.com

Old time, vintage becomes modern & perfect wedding favors and decor
i just stumbled across quite possible the coolest Etsy store ever. they have the coolest cupcake liners!! and straws! and little charms that would make for a memorable wedding favor. espcially if paired with one of the fun bags and glass bowls filled with different trinkets. here are some things i adored the most. i think the telephone would look great at the favor table. all of these items can be found at HeyYoYo.

rehearsal dinner invite
this is one of about 4 invites i did for a rehearsal dinner for a friend’s upcoming wedding. i don’t want to influence anyone with what i like the most, but this is my favorite.
night night.

a walk on the ‘me’ side
i like a lot of different styles. i consider myself eclectic. vintage, modern, shabby, glamour, etc. wedding invites are very much alike. very often you can look at a design and know where the inspiration came from. most of the designs i have been doing are very much for someone looking for that. so, i thought i would do something just me. i like clean lines, sans serif, and good color combinations. yes, i like ornate and swashes, too, but it isn’t my first instinct. obviously, i am not some wise, old designer who knows exactly who they are as a designer. beginning this journey of wedding invitations is allowing me to develop and reopen myself to design all together. i hope that eventually i can work in quirk and humor into my design. and hopefully, i will have a client who will allow me to do that. anyway, to go with this i threw together a quick ‘save the date’ for some unknown. what do you think?
if i were flipping through a book of invites this is one that would catch my eye. simple. clean lines with some roughness, and a neat color combo.
